Dear Friends and Family:

How are you doing? I hope that God is doing as many wonderful things in your life as He is in mine. I am having a wonderful year at Gateway Church; I am enjoying being part of the Children’s Ministry aiding in the three year old classrooms, Tech Arts Ministry and the Gateway Students Ministry and feeling God's will to do more for the world around me.

I want to share with you a challenging ministry opportunity that God has presented to me. In 2014 there are three mission opportunities I would like to participate in:

This spring break, March 10 through March 14, Gateway Students has the opportunity to do a domestic ministry work trip to Shreveport, Louisiana. We will partner with the Hub, an inner-city outreach organization focused on impacting the Shreveport community. This 5-day missions trip will be reaching out and spreading the gospel to the people while also learning more about the people there and their culture. In June, dates not determine yet, Gateway Students have the opportunity to do another domestic ministry work trip to Somers Point, New Jersey and partner with Fusion Church to bless the local communities impacted by Hurricane Sandy. There are still many families, homes and churches in that area struggling after the devastating storm that hit the east coast in October of 2012. We will learn to bless others who have faced tragedy with the hope of Jesus. Fusion Church link: http://www.fusionchurch.cc/

Lastly, August 2 through August 8, Gateway Students, 8th-12th grade, has the opportunity to do an outreach to Guatemala. In Guatemala, we will work with missionaries Pat and Charlie Reynolds. Pat and Charlie are originally from Texas, but have now been in Chimaltenango, Guatemala for more than 13 years and have built private Christian schools, while working with the homeless in the dumps and blessing the remote mountain villages surrounding Chimaltenango. It will definitely be an amazing and eye-opening experience to partner with these incredible missionaries! Link: http://hisappointedtime.com/site/ministries/

While God has opened up a door for me to develop a greater heart of compassion for His people around the world, the exciting part is that you will be able to share in this compassion in several ways. First, you can help pray for me and my fellow students. We will need prayers that God will prepare us for our visit and bless our efforts as we minister to the people.

We will also need prayers that our financial needs will be met. At this time we need to raise $1,450 each, plus passport, to attend these trips, and that is quite a challenge! So far I have raised the $200 needed to cover the Shreveport, Louisiana trip and passport but am short $500 for Somers Point, NJ and $750 for Guatemala.

Another way you can be involved is to help provide that financial support. Would you consider supporting me with a small donation? Just click the donate button if you feel led to contribute. I will need to raise all my funds by May 1 in order to pay for airline tickets and other items. Whether you feel led to contribute financially, through prayer, or both, all of your support is appreciated.

I look forward to doing God's work with these mission trips and letting you know all about how God has worked through this team when I return from each of them.

God Bless,

Jarred Ordille
