Tammylee Chapman hasn't added a story.
Loves' Brigade of Angels
Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Tammylee Chapman, and I am the founder of what I am praying will become a brigade of 'like minded' individuals, looking for ways to create a huge 'chain of love' to wrap around this country.
Now, we all know that there are many organizations out there reaching out in one way or another, so your probably asking yourself, "what makes this group any different"? Well, our goal is that our group of 'Angels' will be able to not only put our wings of hope around individual people and families with a wide aray of needs, but also, that we will be able to able to reach even farther, by supporting other programs and organizations that we feel are indeed, making a difference in in a much an 'larger' venue. We will not have the 'high' overhead to deal with, so that means every dollar raised goes directly to them.
Now, even though I haven't gotten the actual 'organization' created in it's entirety yet, (I am going through the legal motions to turn it into a non-profit), we have already agreed to take on our first individual, and program to reach out to.
For those that are connected through Facebook, you go to our 'Loves' Brigade of Angels' page to see the details in a more explicative way, but for those that are not connected in that way, I will give a brief description for you.
We have chosen an Individual (Ms. Shari Todd), a past Humanitarian herself. This woman has always believed in Sharing the Love, by reaching out to others, volunteering time, (even though she is disabled herself), helping not only monetarily, but, in whatever she could to ensure that she helped to make a dent in some of the individuals and programs around her. Ms. Shari is one that, despite her own health battles, (3 auto immune diseases, a congential heart disorder, and a very serious eye disorder), she felt that it was more than given back to her with the hugs, and love that she received.
Well, Recently, Ms. Shari found herself fighting a very serious, unforeseen, monetary battle. And rather than ask anyone for help when it was First needed, she began the 'robbing of peter to pay paul' method of staying afloat, but when her private medical insurance was cancelled, and she could no longer pay for her many medications or health care visits, she realized she would have to swallow her own pride and search for her own help. She is to receive medicare benefits that will begin in February, and she applied for State assistance, but found that she is bringing in approximately 28.00-68.00 too much to receive the help. Her only income now is that of SS disability and we all know that you don't receive Medicare until you have been on disability for a year. Needless to say, since she had waited so long to ask for help, the bills have become way beyond her ability to 'catch' them up, and now, she is being threatened with foreclsure of her home, loss of her only transportation, not having enough groceries to eat, and not being able to afford her lifesaving medications.
We would also like to be able to contribute to the 'Read to Sydney' orgainization. This is but one of the programs that Ms. Shari was not only a financial contributor on, but also a volunteer, and co-author of the book they use in the program. This program is beneficial to all children that are having dificulties learning to read, as well as to the 'special needs' children. The premise is that by bringing Sydney, a certified Austrailian mix, therapy dog into the classroom, with her book, "Sydney Finds A Job', it will provide the children with the actual 'live' dog that the story is about, and they are able to actually 'touch', and pet the main character. Believe me when I say these kids are stimulated beyond comprehension to read more and is a program that can spread nationally. So this is a program that keeps on giving.
We sure would appreciate any and all financial assistance, even if only 1.00. We all know that each and every single dollar makes a difference, and helps us to add another 'link' in our 'Chain of Love'.
Thank you for your time, and may you receive many blessings this Christmas season.
