** Team Ali Update 06/03/14 **
As many of you now know, Ali received her angel wings on June 2,
2014. After nearly a year, her fight is over. We'd like to thank all
of you who supported Ali and her family over the past year. We have
been humbled by how many lives she touched.
Our focus now is on celebrating Ali's life and assisting Jeremy
and the twin boys. This is where we'd like to enlist your support one
more time. We are continuing the fund to assist Jeremy and the twins.
In the short-term, the fund will be used to cover some of the massive
medical expenses incurred during Ali's fight. The long-term goal is to
defer education costs for the twins. Any help you can provide will be
massively helpful and much appreciated.
Again, thank you to everyone who has cared so deeply for Ali.
She touched so many of us. Please help us support her family now.
***
She is survived by her loving husband, Jeremy Arkenbout, and twin sons, Aidan and Julian. Ali, the daughter of Kendal and Jane (Howard) Kempenaar of Newton, was born on December 4, 1981, in Grinnell, Iowa. A 2000 graduate of Newton Senior High School, she attended the University of Iowa and Georgia State University and worked in accounting for RaceTrac Petroleum, Inc. in Atlanta. She married Jeremy on June 19, 2010, and gave birth to Aidan and Julian on August 17, 2012. Ali had recovered from two heart surgeries performed last fall to complete mitral valve repair and replacement, and was rehabilitating from Guillain-Barré Syndrome when she suffered a sudden cerebral hemorrhage.
