On June 8th 2013, an intrepid group of SOAS & UCL students were roughing themselves up in the Tough Mudder 2013 race in Winchester. This 12 mile assault course involves scaling walls, monkey bars, icy pools of water, electric shocks and lots of mud!

Our efforts are dedicated to the Goldmines Foundation, a youth empowerment NGO based in Nairobi's biggest slum, Kibera. Goldmines has an impressive track record of helping young people achieve their full potential through academic, sport, arts & culture, music and entrepreneurial programmes. Through a combined approach of training, capacity building, mentoring and leadership development Goldmines is empowering Kenyan youth to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
