The plight of dogs in Sri Lanka is unimaginable. They suffer from serious diseases that go untreated, and are often abused and neglected or die of hunger. Dog Care Clinic e.V. is launching a new campaign to help save these dogs and now needs your help!
The plight of dogs in Sri Lanka is unimaginable. They suffer from serious and debilitating diseases that go untreated, and many die of hunger, are shot dead, or poisoned. Dog Care Clinic e.V. cares for the abused and unwanted dogs of Sri Lanka through a strategic programme of neutering, vaccination, medical treatment and rehoming, and provides a sustainable future for local Sri Lankan people through employment opportunities and educational support for young families.

Since October 2007, the DCC's "rolling" medical teams have neutered approximately 40,000 dogs in the south of the country. This work is particularly important for two reasons:

1. To keep the increase of street dogs under control, thereby keeping population levels within sustainable limits and reducing the burden on animal welfare organisations.

2. To significantly reduce the spread of infectious diseases (the most serious of which includes rabies, yellow fever and distemper) and minimise the risk to humans in contact with street dogs as part of their daily lives.

Please help continue this vital social project by making a contribution to support the DCC so that it can ensure the safety and wellbeing of the animals and local people of Sri Lanka both now and in the future.
