Yoda is a 12 year old rescue Corgi that has a ruptured disc in his spine and needs water treadmill therapy and acupuncture to help him recover.
Yoda is a very special Corgi rescue boy. He has been living with rescue guru and Corgi Mom Tavia since July 2011. Yoda will be 12 years old on April 3rd and was rescued by none other than Ms. Kayla Cline, a member of the CorgiPals Board of Directors. Here is Yoda's story in Tavia's words:

"When he was brought to me, we suspected IVDD and possible DM. We treated with meds for almost 18 months when he started going downhill and losing the ability to walk. We thought it was DM and he tested At Risk. About 6 weeks ago we came home from the store and he couldn't walk and was in major pain. We took him in the next day for an exam and xrays. The vet thought he had ruptured a disc, and called a specialist, Dr. Newman in for a myelogram. At this point, he couldn't walk, urniate and could not have a bowel movement on his own.

The myelogram showed a ruptured disc at T13/L1 and the hour and half surgery turned into a 3 hour surgery. He was not supposed to come home for 3-4 days, but he was up and trying to walk the next morning, and peeing on his own again. He has been doing very well, making steady progress through acupuncture and laser therapy since surgery, but needs to build strength back up. The best way is through the water treadmill at the Rebound Rehab. He also developed an abdominal hernia during surgery, the vet thinks from the mechanical ventilator. This has since healed, and he also had a fungal infection show up on his side, which has also healed at this point, so he has been given the go ahead for the treadmill."

Yoda will need 10 water treadmill sessions and 2-3 acupuncture sessions, totaling $780. I know we can easily raise this for Yoda and help him feel better so he doesn't have to spend his remaining years on this Earth in pain! Let's do it, Pals!!
