TOVA: The Other Voice Alive is a USA based artistic residency and performance platform created by award winning theater director and choreographer Sagí Amir Gros. TOVA is the feminine form of the word 'TOV' in Hebrew. It brings together dance, spoken theater, live music and film to create emotionally direct performances that explore home, migration, memory, and coexistence.
At the heart of this work is his pioneering artistic philosophy, Physical Script: The Body as an Archive, which treats physical movement and lived history as living narratives capable of building deep empathy, unearthing generational memory, and restoring dialogue.
TOVA is designed as a bridge building project between Jewish and Arab communities, between colorful marginalized voices, and between Europe and the United States. The work lives both on stage and within educational communities, combining high level artistic production with research, academic dialogue, and deep civic cultural engagement. TOVA is a non-profit project. The 92nd Street Y, New York (92NY), serves a home for the project, with an ambition for a multi-institutional partnership around NYC and beyond.
Sagí Amir Gros is an Israeli-Dutch award winning theater director, choreographer, and filmmaker working between New York, Berlin and Amsterdam. Born in Tel Aviv to a Yemeni Romanian Jewish family, his work is shaped by migration, multiplicity, and lived experience.

His work has been presented internationally, including at the Louvre Museum in Paris, Museum Ludwig in Cologne, EYE Film Institute in Amsterdam, Sydney Dance Company, and Michigan Grand Rapids Ballet among others. TOVA represents his long term commitment to NYC as a creative and civic home.
At these times of heightened divisions, hate and racial tensions around the globe, at TOVA we fervently believe that it will be art, music, dance, expression and love that will bring humanity together. We intend to use our creative talents to bridge those divides and remind people from every corner of the world that we have much more in common than we do differences. We believe that by building upon those commonalities, we create community, a global human family and create an environment that will allow each beautiful person to reach their full potential.
TOVA uses the power of art to bridge divides, transform silence into dialogue, and remind us of our shared human story.

In October 2027, TOVA will present the New York premiere of Your Silence is Loud XXL at the 92nd Street Y.
Originally created and premiered in Cologne, Germany in 2026, Your Silence is Loud is a multidisciplinary work that explores themes of speech, silence, generational memory, and civic responsibility.
The NYC presentation transforms the original work into a large scale re-creation, expanding its scope and bringing together international guest artists alongside dynamic local young performers from New York City.

What your support will build?
To transform this ambitious vision into a sustainable international institution in NYC, we are launching a two phase campaign.
We are starting with an initial goal of 135,000 Dollars, as part of a larger 250,000 Dollar budget designed for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
This financial foundation will establish our operational independence alongside the support and advice of the 92nd Street Y under artistic director Alison Manning.
Specifically, your contribution directly funds:
-
Executive producer Noah Waxman to run TOVA: Bringing on New York based producer Noah Waxman to lead producing, institutional operations, and strategic partnerships.
-
Specialized marketing and PR Team for TOVA: Building a dedicated New York communications team to expand our public reach, media presence, and global visibility.
-
Studio rent and creative spaces for TOVA: Securing essential rehearsal and research space in New York City to build, create, and refine major productions.
-
Independent institutional infrastructure for TOVA: Building our own non profit organization, donor stewardship, grant administration, and operational foundation to ensure long term financial stability.
-
Professional and community educational platforms: Sustaining masterclasses, university collaborations, and public workshops centered on Physical Script: The Body as an Archive for both professional artists and diverse local communities.
