Every January the Bizare Art Festival is held at Calwa Park in Fresno, CA, to honor the memory of Salvador “Bizare” Lujan, who passed away unexpectedly on January 29, 2013. A beloved figure in the Hip-Hop community, Bizare was a passionate artist and a lifelong advocate for creative expression. This annual festival celebrates his legacy, bringing together artists, musicians, and a live breaking battle to unite the community through art.
Scheduled near the anniversary of Bizare’s passing, the festival features live mural painting by over 80 graffiti writers and public artists, as well as temporary art installations. Now in its 13th year, the festival highlights the growing role of graffiti in contemporary art and serves as a platform to showcase diverse creative talent.
