On May 23rd my Life came to a screeching halt
I was hit with a "mystery illness" whose symtpoms came on so quickly and so intensely that within two weeks I lost all independence. I was told that everything I was going through was all in my head and was turned away by multiple Drs with no diagnosis.
I wasn't taking no for an answer and did some research and found a functional medicine practice that actually listened to me and was able to diagnose me with stage 4 Epstein Barr Virus. EBV causes debilitating symtpoms and in my case, compleltey takes over your nervous systrem. I was in and out of the hospital 5+ times, I couldn't think enough to form sentences, and sometimes getting out of bed wasn't even an option. Thankfully my Dr was able to offer a treatment that had me fully functioning, but 4 weeks into my recovery my health took an unexpected turn. As my immune system finally came back online I started getting more symptoms and my doctors are now suspecting lyme disease. At this point we are back to the drawing board and aren't sure what else is going on in my body as lyme comes with different coinfections and all other factors like mold, heavy metals, etc tht could be feeding into my illness.
I'll be continuing treatments with my doctors to keep pushing me in the right direction, but my main goal is to get to Deeper Healing in South Caroline to see Dr. Bauershcmidt. I will be treated for two weeks to finally get my health back to where it needs to be. Unfortnaltey, everything is an out of pocket cost for my family and I and due to not working since May, everything is adding up.
It took a long time for me to accept that I can't do this by myself and I'm beyond grateful for those who have helped me along the way, but this journey of healing myself from the inside out isn't over yet. And even though I'm fearful for what lies ahead, I'm looking forward to the day I can finally say I'm in remission and I'm healed.
