GATHER AROUND A VIRTUAL DINNER TABLE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE
One of the most meaningful things we can do with family and friends is to gather for a meal. Right now, we're not able to do that easily in person, but we can get together virtually. International China Concern (ICC) invites you to host your own Meal With A Meaning event. Celebrate a fun evening with friends while you make an impact on a child’s life. What greater excuse for a get-together, than to help vulnerable children with disabilities!
ABOUT ICC
For over 26 years, ICC has been serving vulnerable children with disabilities in China. Alongside providing direct 24/7 group home care to over 250 children that have experienced abandonment, ICC's Family Partners Program helps reduce abandonment through supporting a further 300 children with disabilities and their families with the education and therapy they need.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A CHILD'S LIFE
You and your friends can address the needs of these precious children in a variety of ways. We show some of the impacts you can make below. These include helping ICC to provide love and care, special education, vocational training opportunities, therapy and much more.
HOW TO HOST YOUR OWN MEAL WITH A MEANING EVENT
1. Invite your friends
Invite your friends, family, sports team, prayer group or book club to take part in your virtual Meal With A Meaning in support of the children of ICC. You choose the date and time for a virtual dinner party. Dress it up or dress it down! You choose. Just press the Register as a host button to sign up as a dinner host.
2. Choose your conference platform
There are many conferencing platforms you can use for hosting virtual gatherings. Here are just some to choose from: Zoom, Skype or Google Hangouts. Just remember to send your guests the video conference invite before your event!
3. Make it meaningful
Let your guests know that in lieu of a host gift, they can give a gift to ICC through a secure link, which includes donation level suggestions. And let them know that the funds raised by your party will be matched (up to a campaign ceiling of $15,000, thanks to an anonymous donor). In addition to having a wonderful time together, your group can delight in knowing they’ve not only had a fun night together, but you’ve also all made a big difference to a child with a disability!

Empower independence through the purchase of a wheelchair
and/or adjustments needed to participate in life-giving activities.

Give the gift of physical therapy to a child for six months.
$1,800 Social Worker
Provide 20 children with a social worker who will get to know
their needs and connect them with critical resources.
$3,000 Vocational Training
Provide opportunities for young people to
learn skills and earn an income, such as working at ICC's food
truck, the Little Ark.
$5,850 Care Team
Provide a child with the support of a Care
Team (social worker, special education teacher and therapist) for
one year.

About ICC
ICC was founded in 1993 by David after seeing firsthand in China the suffering of Chinese children with disabilities, who had been abandoned and left without hope in desperate conditions.
In the beginning, ICC sent Short-Term Teams to China to provide care in government welfare centres. Later, we established permanent locations which provide full-time family-style care for children in Changsha and Hengyang in Hunan Province.
