Since I moved to Langley as Director of Rehab Service at Langley Memorial Hospital in 1985, I have been continuously involved in the Community and community organizations. The first thing I noticed was that there was no transportation for people with disabilities so I immediately jumped in with both feet to lobby the City and Township to get HandiDart into the community (who knew that 20 years later I would be using it for a time myself).

Over the following years I brought up my family in this wonderful community. With my children grown and gone, I became an empty nester. I became permanently confined to a wheelchair in 2001, and as a result had to modify my lifestyle. In 2003, I lost my husband to Cancer, and in 2005 I went through a bout of breast cancer. I continued to work with many organizations in the community, along the way changing my career and becoming an Insurance Broker specializing in Health and Dental as well as Travel Insurance.

It has been my great honour over the years to receive the Woman of the Year Award in 1999, the Courage to Come Back Award in 2008 and the 2012 Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

In 2010 I founded an organization called Langley Pos-Abilities Society in order to increase my advocacy for people with disabilities. Now it is time for me to help the community in a much larger way. I have been very concerned about the way some decisions are being made by politicians and bureaucrats that ignore the wishes of the members of our community. To my mind some of the decisions seem to be illogical.

It is my objective to ensure that the people of Langley are very much a part of the decision making process. Let’s use some common sense in the management of Langley Township!

Please donate to my campaign. I need your help to fund my website, to pay for the signs and brochures I need, and to fund other advertising initiatives.

And please vote for me on November 15th.

Oh, one more request: Please send this to your friends asking them to help me get elected.

Rumor and I are looking forward to meeting you and to helping Langley become an even better place to live.
