Three years ago, in 2011, Brandon and Jessica were married.  The excitement of beginning their family was overflowing as they began their new lives together as husband and wife.  Having discussed wanting to start that new family as soon as possible, they knew that this was an adventure they were both ready and prepared for.  However, after trying for two years to get pregnant to no avail, they were beginning to get discouraged.  They spent a lot of time talking about what their options were, and what they could do to finally have that “baby makes three” dream they had for so long come to a reality.  After months of researching their options, in June of 2013 they decided they were going to try IUI (intrauterine inception).

They saw an endocrinologist, had a dye test and blood work, and to their dismay Jessica’s hormone levels were irregular.  Unfortunately they were not going to be able to begin their IUI right away.  July came and went with the same result on the hormone levels, but they didn’t let that stop them.  In both August and September they tried IUI again… but yet no pregnancy ever developed.  They tried again in October, and couldn’t contain their excitement when the little pink line showed up announcing they were finally pregnant.

Their excitement was fleeting, though as, not but a week later, they were experiencing a miscarriage.  Devastation was inevitable, but they believed it was only a matter of time before they finally had the baby they had been praying for.  They kept their hopes alive, and in November, February, and March they tried again.  The answer was unfortunately always the same: NOT PREGNANT.

After March, though, they decided to try something different.  They were going to try In Vitro Fertilization.  Jessica’s eggs were frozen in April, and they were ready to implant in May.  They had three viable eggs to implant, and so Jessica and Brandon chose to start off with two to better their odds of conceiving and save the other one for later (just in case).

Tears of joy were shed when they went to their doctor’s appointment to discover that they were indeed pregnant.  After everything they had been through, this was finally the moment they had been waiting for.  They celebrated with friends and family, and were feeling over the moon with their good news.  However, like before, their good news was short-lived when Jessica miscarried a few days later.  Brandon and Jessica were crushed, but instead of letting the situation crush their hope, they decided they were going to try again with their last remaining frozen egg.

They have plans to implant the last egg in July, and have kept their spirits alive.  Unfortunately this entire process, from fertility drugs to doctor’s appointments to the treatments themselves, has been a costly one.  Even with insurance the out of pocket expenses for their journey has been $30,000.  So we ask that you please help our friends fulfill their Golden Dream by donating to help alleviate some of their medical expenses.  Whether it’s only one dollar or one hundred dollars, any amount would be genuinely appreciated as there is no couple more deserving and appreciative as Jessica and Brandon Golden.
