Help Jackson and his family with travel/medical expenses (not covered by insurance). Jackson is 8 years old and has many medical compliations.

Here is his full story:

Jackson was born via c-section at 26 weeks gestation on Feb. 18 2006. He was born due to maternal HELLP syndrome. He weighed 1 pound 4 ounces. He was transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. When he was four days old he suffered from a grade four Intraventricular Hemorrhage and a pulmonary hemorrhage. He was given until noon that day to live.
He made it past noon to have a rocky road ahead. He was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus and had his first brain surgery at one month old. He second and third brain surgery was at 3 months old. His fourth was at four months old and his fifth brain surgery was at 6 months old. He has a VP shunt in place to help with the hydrocephalus. He stay in the NICU 6 1/2 months enduring many complications from eating, breathing, bradys, infections, etc. We have came close to losing him several times in his 8 years. The most recent time was in July 2012. He aspirated on stomach acid during surgery. This caused him to have a severe case of pneumonia causing him to stop breathing. He was on life support for 8 days with ECMO on stand by due to his rapid decline.
Jackson has had a total of 25 operations in his life. He has many diagnosis including PVL, hydrocephalus, global developmental delays, chronic constipation, spastic diplegia cerebral palsy, eczema, Intractable Epilepsy (longest seizure to date was 2 1/2 hours long. His very first seizure was over an hour), leg length discrepancy, combined ADHD, Cortical Visual Impairment, Failure to Thrive, Sensory Integration Processing Disorder, Feeding Disorder, Gastroesophalgeal Reflux, Asthma, Chronic Lung Disease, Growth Hormone Deficiency, Rumination Disorder, Intermittent Esotropia, Hypermetropia, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Central Sleep Apnea, Sensorineural Hearing Loss, Adrenal Insufficiency, Small intestional bacterial overgrowth, and Electrical Status Epilepticus in Sleep (ESES) also know as Continuous Spike Waves during slow sleep (CSWS) that affects 85-100% of his sleep (this is being managed by medication currently)
He currently takes 18 different daily medications (totaling 31 times throughout the day that he gets medication) He has four emergency medications that must be with us at all times. He is in weekly physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. He has 14 specialty doctors, an audiologist, a nutritionist, and a feeding therapist. Our closest doctor is 40-45 minutes from home and the furthest is 2 1/2 hours away.
