Rev. Heber Brown, III and a team of partners are hosting the Marissa Alexander Freedom School at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church from April 14 - 18, 2014 from 9:00AM - 2:00PM.

Instead of Baltimore City Public School youth spending their Spring Break sitting at home or being unproductive, we're inviting them (along with interested adults) to participate in a week of interactive learning and healing.

We've named this freedom school after Marissa Alexander - the Jacksonville, Florida woman who is currently facing 60 years for firing a warning shot in the direction of her estranged husband after being a victim of domestic abuse.

Using her ordeal as a backdrop, we'll spend the week learning about healthy relationships, sexual assault, domestic violence, violence against women, and what we can do to strengthen our families and communities.

Your financial support will help us maximize this opportunity to bear witness to the genuis of Baltimore youth and help position them as the change makers that our community needs them to be.

Thank you for your donation and support!
