In July, I have the amazing opportunity to take Addison (11 yrs old) on a mission trip to El Progresso, Honduras, with the 147 Million Orphans organization. We will be serving in two communities - the Copprome Orphanage (where we get to love on, play with and serve the children), and the Mt. Olivos Village (a community of families displaced by the local government). Addison is so excited about serving! She loves children and is looking forward to loving on the kids. She and her friends are making bracelets for her to take all the kids in the orphanage. She is also a hard worker and loves a good challenge. Any physical work we do in Mt. Olivos will be right up her alley! I cannot wait to serve alongside her. What an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus with my oldest child.

Addison will be starting middle school in the fall and I LOVE God's timing. We live in a culture where we are always wanting more and nothing is ever enough. And you know the tween and teen years - kids thinking only about themselves! ;) My prayer is that God would work in us both and teach us about contentment, joy, gratefulness and being a true servant. I know we will have the chance to process all we see and experience together. We haven't visited a 3rd world country, and I expect it to be overwhelming at times. I am praying and trusting that God will use this time to deepen our relationship with Him and grow our mother/daughter relationship as we begin to navigate the middle school years. Isn't God good? I. CANNOT. WAIT.

We need your help to make this trip happen. The total cost of the trip will be arond $3600. We have already had a couple of people express the desire to support us on this trip. Ava Jane was our first "donor." She had been working hard at making and selling rainbow loom bracelets. She gave ALL she made (plus a little left-over Christmas money) - $30 - for our mission trip. You have never seen someone so excited to give us her money. We decided to do a FUNdraiser!! We created a puzzle with 252 pieces. For a $10 donation, we will take a puzzle piece and write your name on the back. As we get donations, we will get to put our puzzle together - for a final result showing us how God used many people to make this mission trip possible! Would you please consider making a $10 donation today?
