Hello, everyone!

I am a high school student in Yonkers training to be a classical singer.  I have had a passion for opera and classical music ever since I was a child.  My parents work in the opera industry so i've always been heavily exposed to it.  I love opera. To me, it's like watching a classical painting come to life.  I also study classical voice with my father, a high ranking operatic baritone.  We place a heavy emphasis on Italian art songs, and the occasional aria.  I have been in several Italian operas (my first being "Tosca" at age 8, the most recent being "I Pagliacci").  When I was 10 years old, I visited Italy for the first time, and I immediately fell in love with the towns, the food, the people, the culture.

Much to my delight, I recently got accepted into a prestigious program in Florence, Italy called "The Bel Canto Institute", which is directed by Jane Klaviter, a longtime coach of the Metropolitan Opera.  In the program,  I'll be heavily immersed in Italian, both in daily intensive language classes as well as with the host family I'll be staying with.  I also will recieve advanced vocal training, performance classes, and will be attending lectures, plus performing in a concert at the end of the four weeks.

I plan to study Italian and classical voice in college so a program like this would look really great on my transcript.

I'm so grateful to have so many friends and family members that support my passions.  I've been asking everyone I know for help, and now, I am sending out the plea to you, the generous people of the internet.

The cost of the program is $6800 and thankfully, I got a $2000 scholarship, reducing the cost to $4800.

For the next few months, I'll be performing in an original cabaret show, busking in subways, and doing bake sales to help me get to Italy, but I need as much help as possible!

I'd like everyone to know that no donation is too small (or too big!), and that every penny gets me closer to my goal!

Grazie mille.
