Jayme is a 12 year old IH sufferer who loves to play Nintendo 3DS and Sims. She loves to read as well, but is unable to because loss of vision in her right eye. In the past several weeks she was hospitalized and had a lumbar drain placed to see if a shunt would be a good option for her. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful and she is going to Columbus Children’s Hospital for a second opinion within the next month or so.

Jayme has spinal taps about every two weeks with pressures high every time. She suffers from extreme numbness and weakness on her left side, debilitating IH headaches and nausea. She has had the Optic Nerve Sheath Fenestration (ONSF) surgery in both eyes to improve her vision, but her vision is still very blurred. She has also had a nerve block to improve her head pain. In addition to IH, Jayme suffers from Mutation Gene Factor 2 -- a blood clotting disease.

Despite all of this, Jayme continues to remain strong and positive. She is an amazing girl and is such a trooper who continues to smile though her daily pain.

Kathi Bear raises IH Awareness and supports The IHope Foundation.
