“Help Give Ashli the Opportunity of a Life Time"
Hi,
My name is Ashli and I am an 8th grade, middle school student. I proudly maintain an A- average and I enjoy learning. Due to my outstanding academic accomplishments I have been accepted into the “People to People Student Ambassador’s Program.” This means I have the opportunity to go to Europe and experience how different cultures live. I have a strong desire to become knowledgeable of the world outside of the USA. I am certain that this travel experience will open my eyes and broaden my mind to a new and exciting outlook on life and further allow me to see my future as something positive to look forward to! I plan to use the knowledge I acquire to help not only enhance my own life but to enhance the lives of my peers and the wonderful people in my city and community.
In addition to my academic accomplishments, I spent my summer as a volunteer summer camp counselor. I was responsible for 5 to 7 year olds and their care and concern was my top priority. Being able to teach them camp slogans and sayings was a rewarding experience and I enjoyed being looked upon as a leader. I also took part in a performing arts program called “Hip Hop 2013: And the Youth Will Lead Us” which focused on the origins and history of hip-hop plus teen leadership and character development. This experience taught me the importance of working together to achieve a common goal and that we as youth are capable of accomplishing anything we set our minds to. We possess talent that will break through the surface with positive encouragement from others who care.
Therefore, if you are able, please assist in my efforts to raise $10,130.00 which is the total amount needed for this once in a lifetime educational trip to EUROPE, ON THE “MEDITERRANEAN TRADITIONS” STUDENT AMBASSADORS TOUR, TO SPAIN, FRANCE AND ITALY, and WITH A SPECIAL DAY IN VATICAN CITY AND MONTACO. We must raise the full amount. All fund Raising efforts and ideas are welcome. I encourage sponsors to support my endeavor as well.
I thank you in advance………..ASHLI

NOTE FROM ASHLI'S GRANDPA RICHARD RYANT:
My granddaughter Ashli is a wonderful young lady that has had a hard beginning.
On April 4, 2007 Ashli was asleep when my daughters ex walked into her apartment and killed her using a knife 18 times. (there were 5 children in the apartment). This awaken then 8yr old Ashli who at the time only thought it was just an argument between her mother and ex, and went back to sleep. Waking up the next morning changed Ashli's young life forever, Ashli found her mom, my daughter "RICKITA DENEEN RYANT" lifeless body with splatters all over the room because my daughter put up a good fight against her attacker............
Ashli has been living with this for 6 years dealing with PTSD, having really bad dreams and visions of finding her mother.
I am happy and proud to say that Ashli is doing well and is in counseling. And despite her truma she is moving forward in a positive way.
IF ANYONE DESERVE THIS CHANCE TO FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION IT'S ASHLI.
Now About People To People: FROM PEOPLE TO PEOPLE
Our Mission: to bridge cultural and political borders through education and exchange, creating global citizens and making the world a better place for future generations.
Stated simply, we create global citizens.
In 1956, President Eisenhower envisioned world peace and his solution was the People to People movement. Western civilization had just survived the second world war. The fractured post-war world was larger than today and people were far more isolated. The need for enduring peace was paramount to the global post-war recovery.
Fast-forward to today. Our society is a global one. Borders have collapsed, the world has opened up and people of all cultures have the opportunity to interact. Fifty years ago, traveling to China was almost unheard of. Now, there are daily non-stop flights from San Francisco to Beijing. And, as we prepare our children for the world of tomorrow, these interconnected cultural ties will only continue to strengthen.
With an interconnected world comes challenges. Lack of cultural understanding and respect is a critical obstacle to personal, organizational and international success. Global citizens are prepared for an interconnected world.
Our Ambassadors are global citizens
7 continents. 40 countries. 500,000 alumni.
For 50 years, People to People Ambassador Programs has provided educational travel for students across the globe. Located in Spokane, WA, People to People Ambassador Programs is home to more than 200 employees who are dedicated to the design and delivery of each People to People program.
With more than 20,000 Ambassadors traveling annually, People to People Ambassador Programs continues to play a significant role in increasing global awareness.
