Madelyn Rankins, an artistic, funny, and creative 13-old girl has been battling intestinal disease for well over a year. After a long year of doctors visits, medications, and special diets have failed to heal Madelyn, she was taken to Mott's Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI where she was officially diagnosed with Crohns Disease on May 3, 2013. Madelyn received her first treatment of Remicade while in the hospital -- a medication given through an IV that will bring some relief to her gastro-intestinal system--allowing to her eat and begin to thrive again.

We are so grateful that Madelyn has a great team of doctors and a promising plan for treatment for this disease! However, there are some needs that come along with these blessings! The Rankins will be traveling to Ann Arbor regularly for Madelyn's treatments -- all of which will take place at the children's hospital there. As many of you, John is self-employed and as health insurance costs have sky-rocketed, the Rankins had to choose a plan with a very high deductible in order to make insurance affordable for them. Their deductible alone is $7500 and they will also be incurring the added expenses of regular travel to Ann Arbor. We have set up this account to make it easy for you to be able to be a financial blessing to this family as they travel this road to getting Madelyn whole again!
