I have decided to move out, on my own, to go to school in Texas! Since I was a little girl, I have always been interested in helping people and my life long dream is to pursue my Masters Degree in Social Work. I want to help children and families, not by taking children away from their parents or guardians, I'd like to really work with the child and family to come together. I am currently finishing my AA and I'm planning that May 15th I'll make my big move to Texas! I already have a job in line and have been accepted to several colleges to complete my AA. After completing my AA, I am planning on transferring to Texas A&M to pursue my Bachelor's Degree and eventually my Master's Degree. Its not going to be extremely expensive, but I will need some help! This endeavor will cost $40,000+ for my Bachelor's in Psychology and my Master's in Social Work. I would prefer to attend Rice University, but I likely wouldn't be able to afford that, with the introduction of a new federal law, the amount of Federal Pell Grant funds I may receive over my lifetime is limited. My mother is a single parent of two and is only capable helping me so much. I believe I was raised very well and have the drive, ambition and discipline to do this, no matter what obstacle is thrown in front of me. Please, help me achieve my goals and change the lives of many children! This isn't about the money to me, hence my occupation of choice does not earn a lot, it's about helping people. Thank you for your time and thank you in advance for any support you are willing and able to provide.
