Ailana needs help to get a custom made wheelchair and with her medical supplies. Ailana was born with a very rare chromosone deficiency. The doctors had little hope that she would survive. She struggled for the first six weeks of her life while being hospitalized. Her mom and dad were doing everything they could to help her in her battle for life. She was sent home and the struggle continued. There were many sleepless nights and many trips to the ER and each time the question asked was, "How invasive do you want us to be?" Her parents and family always filled with hope and faith would answer, "Please save her life!" And every step of the way Ailana fought and proved the doctors wrong.
Since that time we as a family have felt the strength of her spirit and will to live. We have been blessed daily by doctors, nurses, family and friends who have fought alongside us, supporting Ailana.
We are at a new and exciting challenge in Ailana's life. She will shortly turn 4 years old and she has the opportunity to attend school. But, she needs her nurses to accompany her to school. The challenge is that in order to attend school, she needs to take her oxygen tank, her suction machine for her trachea, her feeding g-tube supplies and pump, her emergency bag, and her diaper bag.
Ailana needs to have a custom made wheelchair that can carry all her supplies and her Aunties from the Hawaii Daughters Guild are having a fundraiser for her. Please read the flyer below and follow Ailana' on her journey by reading her fan page.
