Down By Law is a citizen-driven project built around proposed legislation, constitutional reform, and a larger effort to rethink how government and the justice system serve the people. The work is already underway. This campaign funds the next step: getting it in front of a much larger audience.

What Increased Funding Makes Possible
$10,000 — Launch Campaign
A focused digital advertising and social media campaign,
promotion of existing videos and materials, additional short-form
content, and targeted public outreach. This is our initial goal. Every
contribution moves us forward.
$25,000 — National Digital Campaign
Expanded advertising across multiple platforms, increased video
production and distribution, more aggressive press and media outreach,
and a significantly larger national audience.
$50,000 — Full Media and Outreach Campaign
A sustained national effort combining digital advertising,
professional media production, public relations, press outreach,
campaign materials, and broad public engagement.
These are not separate fundraising goals — they are stages. $10,000 is where we start. Everything beyond that expands the scale, reach, and duration of the campaign.
To put the numbers in perspective: national political campaigns routinely spend tens of millions of dollars — sometimes hundreds of millions. These funds are not intended to build a massive political machine. Down By Law is building something different. The machinery already exists: social media, digital platforms, political media networks, online communities. This campaign uses that infrastructure to spread the word. The goal is not a political machine. It is an informed public.
