ReGrow Local Business
Enabling communities to support their local businesses through the Covid-19 crisis
ReGrow Local Business (“ReGrow”) is a large-scale crowdfunding initiative that enables community residents to support their local small businesses most affected by Covid-19 - helping bring them and their workers to the other side of the pandemic. ReGrow recognizes that the economic ramifications of Covid-19 are particularly felt by those businesses that are fundamentally important to the culture of local neighborhoods, like restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, pubs, bakeries, bookshops, art galleries, and barbershops/hair salons. Neighborhoods need these businesses to survive, not just because they employ huge numbers of local residents or because of the services they provide, but also because they are integral to the vibrancy, fun, and fabric of local communities.
Baltimore, Canton Neighborhood (Pilot Site)
In Canton, ReGrow is partnering with Church on the Square and the Canton Community Association to turn the generosity of Canton residents into emergency relief for struggling Canton businesses. Half of all funds raised are used to sustain business operations through the crisis and half goes directly to workers who have been furloughed or had their hours reduced. | “Our communities ARE our small businesses, they employ us, they feed us, they are the settings for our most cherished memories.
