Trips for Kids has enriched the lives of more than 200,000 youth across North America by using one simple tool – the bicycle. Our first chapter was founded by Marilyn Price in 1988, and since then we have grown from that small program in Marin County, California, to a network of 75 independent chapters across North America.

 

Our youth development programs reach young people between the ages of 10-17, from mostly underserved communities, through neighborhood groups, schools, youth development agencies and other community organizations. Our Discovery Trail Rides, Adventure Clubs, Earn-a-Bike Workshops, Youth@Work Programs, Mobile Bike Clinics and other youth development programs are helping to inspire healthy, recreational lifestyles, environmental awareness, and personal empowerment. We envision a world where kids from all walks of life have the opportunity to know the joy of riding a bike and the freedom to explore the natural world on two wheels.
