June Darling is a State Champion!!! The Lino Lakes Elementary STEM School Community Problem Solving Team has been invited to the International Competition in Ames, IA. Help us fund her journey!!! More ...

As many of you may know, June is part of her elementary school's (Lino Lakes Elementary STEM School) Community Problem Solving Team. June & her teammates are working on spreading Diabetes Awareness within their school & their community. They named their project D.A.R.T. - which stands for Diabetes Awareness, Research and Teaching, or Diabetes: A Real Thing.

On March 29, 2014, teams from all over Minnesota gathered together at Centennial Middle School in Lino Lakes to show off the work they had done so far this year to judges from the MN Future Problem Solvers orginazation ( The D.A.R.T. team won the Junior Division State Championship and have now been invited to the International Competition for Future Problem Solvers ( at Iowa State, in Ames IA on June 12-15, 2014.

Most of the registration fees are being covered from our school board and hopefully a grant through The Education Foundation of the Forest Lake Area (

We are looking to fundraise an additional $475 to cover June's chaperone's fee (me!).

While talking about this fundraiser, June decided that it would be kind of cool to let people know that if we raise funds above & beyond our goal we are going to donate it to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund). As you may recall, she participated in the Diabetes Walk at the Mall of America earlier this year - - and raised 230% of her goal!

Anything you can give would be great! Thank you in advance for helping our Little Girl do Great Things!!!
