Khloee Hope Landes at 19 months old was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on February 7, 2014.   She was admitted to the Pediatric ICU and spent 6 days in the hospital. What a devastating and life changing event for Khloee and her parents Erik and Abby Landes.  Khloee needs a Diabetic Service Dog to help monitor her blood sugar levels and alert her parents when her levels are too low or too high.  Night and Day, he will be at Khloee's side, he will become Khloee's companion and see her through the very tough years of her disease, her toddler and school age years!! A Diabetic Service Dog is $15,000.00.  It is critical to Khloee!!  Her dog will at some point in her life, SAVE her life!!!!  At this young age she does not understand, she cannot speak for herself and say "Mommy I don't feel right"!!  She requires 24 hour supervision and very close monitoring of her blood glucose levels.  Because of her being a toddler, each day is new and different.  She may play too much or too little, eat or not eat, become ill with a cold or the flu and all of this affects her blood glucose.  A Diabetic Service Dog is trained from day one as "her dog".  Once Diabetic Alert Dogs of America receives the down payment of $2500.00 the finding of Khloee's dog will begin.  Her parents have chosen an Irish Setter or a Golden Retriever.  Research shows that both of these dogs make very good and loyal Service dogs.  Once the dog is located from a good breeder a collection kit will be sent to her parents for them to collect over several days Khloee's saliva when her blood glucose levels are high and low, they are frozen and overnighted to Ed Peeples at the training facility in Las Vegas.

Khloee getting this Diabetic Service Dog will allow her to have the absolute safest environment and allow her the best quality of life.
