Matthew Fedorowicz hasn't added a story.
My 2nd Cousin, Jasmine Krupinski is in need of aid for her cancer treatment. She's an amazing woman who I'm proud to call family. In Lieu of gifts or card of any kind for my 30th Birthday, please donate what you can towards her treatment.
Here's her story:
In September of 2011, at age 29, Jasmine was diagnosed with breast
cancer. Within a week Jasmine underwent surgery to remove a breast and
many lymph nodes. After she recovered from surgery, about two months
later, Jasmine had to start chemotherapy. Chemo treatments went once
every three weeks for the next 15 weeks, totalling six treatments.
After chemo came radiation treatments, which involved treatment five
times a week for a month, totalling 20 treatments.
After her
treatment, Jasmine's CT and Bone scans came back negative meaning her
body was 'cancer free'.
Jasmine tried to continue on with her
life after she received the results of her scans, which meant going
back to work and getting back into a routine.
Jasmine wasn't
sure what her future held so, she took some time for herself. She took
a nutrition course to better understand what it takes to be a healthy
person. Jasmine also went to Europe to gain some life experiences, as
she had never been overseas.
After she returned, Jasmine went
for CT and Bone scans on November 4, 2013. On the sixth, Jasmine
received shocking and unfortunate news.. that the cancer had
metastasized (spread) to her bones. Jasmine started high dose Vitamin
C treatments, along with supplements to keep her body alkaline to
stave off the cancer.
It became true to us that we needed to
search for alternatives for Jasmine's treatment. These treatments
weren't practiced in Canada, but recognized as being successful by
Canadian professionals and healthcare workers.
In February 2014,
Jasmine received more scans that showed that her Vitamin C treatment
was failing. From this insight, it was clear we had to seek treatment
elsewhere. Researching facilities from all over the world, Jasmine
felt Germany was the best choice because they were quick to respond
and had many options available.
On March 23rd, Jasmine and her
mother left for Germany so Jasmine could get the treatment she needs.
They are expected to be there at least six weeks.
Jasmine's
Family has set up a trust fund, at the ATB, to cover the costs of her
treatment. If you wish to donate, every gift will be deeply
appreciated. Any ATB Financial location will accept donations to
"Jasmine In Trust Krupinski" account.
Thank you from
us all.
