3 guys,
3 motorcycyles,
13,000 miles,
6 great charities.
We will be Riding for: Brandi's Wish, Black Dagger, Hope 4 PTSD Vets, Our Troops Online, National Alliance to End Veteran Suicide and Prayers from Maria.
Each rider selected two volunteer based charities that they had a special bond with and was important that awareness and support be promoted.
Please help us on this trek from Key West to Alaska and back.
Who we ride for:
Brandi's Wish: Founded in March 2011 out of a
personal tragedy and the death of 18 year old Brandi Shea Meshad due
to prescription drug poisoning. Our mission is to raise awareness
through education and offer preventive solutions to teens and their
families regarding the dangers of prescription drug misuse and abuse.
We believe that every teenager can achieve their wishes and dreams for
a healthy and successful future by living a drug-free life. We believe
the deaths that occur from the misuse and abuse of prescription
medications are preventable. We believe we must change the way
communities perceive addiction and the victims of this disease and
proactively work to educate children, parents and community members to
remove the stigma associated with it.

Black Dagger MHC: Our Mission We provide peer-to-peer hunting and shooting opportunities for military men, women, and family members. Our team is passionate about teaching others about weapons, warfare, special forces, and hunting. This club is dedicated to the men & women who defend our country, because, "Freedom is not Free." We are made up of military veterans (from all 5 branches) who know how important it is to support our troops! Rider: Steve Stritzinger www.blackdaggermhc.org
Hope 4 PTSD Vets: Increase Awareness within both the veteran and general population about the effects of trauma/PTSD on our veterans, their families, and communities. Cultivate Peer Support Squads by uniting veterans, wounded by trauma, together in a variety of healing and wellness activities which encourage peer support and accountability. Rider: Gerald Tatton www.hope4ptsdvets.org
Support The Troops: Bob Williams was a sailor in the
1960’s. He started Our Troops Online out of his respect for what our
U.S. troops do to protect our freedom. Bob Williams goes to his
warehouse early in the morning while most of the country sleeps, to
read through the many emails that he receives from the troops. Many
of the items requested are simply every-day items which we are used to
and accustomed to; items such as shoe-sole inserts, coffee, tea,
cigars, and personal hygiene items. Bobs gifts of pens and stuffed
animals have been given to children who then became good intelligence
sources. One soldier told him in an email that an Iraqi girl who
received a Beanie Baby later kept Marines from driving over a roadside
bomb. “She saved the lives of six Marines,” Williams said. “Things
like that you don’t think of. This means a lot to me.”

National Alliance to End Veteran Suicide: The Department of Veterans Affairs estimates that 22 Veterans per day die from suicide. This is one loss every 65 minutes, totaling 8,030 deaths per year, nearly 20 percent of all suicides in the United States. The biggest age spikes are around 60 years old (our Vietnam era Veterans) and 18-25 (our recent Veterans). See our press page for related items on Veteran Suicide. Our Mission: To end Veteran suicide in our nation through our focus areas of education, research, resource provision, and community collaborations. Our Vision: To create a network of committed, trained, and recognized volunteer champions actively engaged in addressing the alarming concern of suicide deaths among Veterans. We will impact this concern and provide resources to Veterans, Families and Survivors through the main focus areas of the Alliance. Rider: Gerald Tatton www.na2evs.org
Prayers from Maria: The Prayers from Maria Foundation is dedicated to funding global research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for the deadliest childhood brain tumors known as gliomas; raising public awareness about gliomas and bringing hope to children and their families who deal with the hardships of this disease. Rider: Craig Berberich www.prayersfrommaria.org
