My grandmother grew up in Calubian, Leyte less than 2 hours away from Tacloban, Leyte, the city hard-hit by Typhoon Haiyan you hear in the news. We have spent many idyllic summers there, visiting relatives, trekking this seaside town, making friends with the locals, eating the freshest food, looking at the clearest skies.

With the devastation that Typhoon Haiyan has left behind in the Phlippines, I hear the people of Calubian have no food and houses are damaged.  I personally know some of these people, some of them relatives I call Aunts and Uncles, distant cousins, dear friends. You might have never heard of Calubian, they don't show this in the media but the devastation there is brutal.

There are no pictures, no glamorous videos that you see in CNN, no electricity, no gas yet.  But from the scant news I've heard from friends, the people are in dire need of food.

The people of Calubian are close to my heart.  Please join me in raising funds to help them buy food and rebuild this small-seaside town that I so enjoyed spending endless summers in.

Please donate through my website.  Please also contact me directly if you would rather transfer to my account.

Thank you very much.
