On Saturday October 19th at 11 o'clock in the morning James was letting Zoe out after he had fed her breakfast and she spotted a squirrel. She took off accross the street which she never does!! James came running into the house to let Rachel know that Zoe was accross the street. Rachel rushed outside but by the time she got out Zoe was standing in the driveway with her poor leg dangling. Somebody in our neighborhood hit her with a car and didn't even stop to see who or what they had hit. We rushed her to the vet where they were able to check her vitals and x-ray her chest to make sure that she didn't have any other unseen internal injuries. Thankfully other than some minor abraisions it seems like the leg is the only real issue. However the position and severity of the break with require a surgical repair and probably a pin to hold her leg in place. The estimated cost of hospitlization and surgery is at this time about $5000. Zoe is our baby and such an important part of our family but this is a huge financial burden for our family. Please if you have any money to spare help us save Zoe's leg. She loves to run with the kids and chase tennis balls and I can't imagine her not being able to do those things again!
