Be an Angel Sponsor of a November fundraiser and help with the expenses of A/V equipment, flyers, supplies, and travel stipends for volunteers from long distances.  The Chippewa people are making a stand to defend the headwaters of the Bad River from iron-ore mining by excercising their treaty rights to hunt, fish, and gather in the region.  A few volunteers will stay in the Penokee Hills during the winter, living in a wigwam, monitoring mining co. activities, and preparing for a spring sugar camp.  The WI tribes are united in preventing the destruction of the Bad River headwaters, because mining there will cause the release of asbestos and sulturic acid into the water and air and Lake Superior.
