***Helix needs a Foster Home and I need your help***

I am asking for your help because, as we all know, sometimes it takes a village.

I do my best to handle situations on my own. It's difficult for me to ask for help... but I would rather ask for help than give up on Helix's life.

The Day I met Helix:

I found him wondering the streets of downtown Ogden. I did everything possible (including knocking on doors) to find his owners. Unfortunatly his story hasn't been a happy one.

His owners had reported him to the city as being "deceased". I did everything I could to contact these people, including going to the house where he was last listed as being alive. Ughhh, not a pleasant experience.

Nobody was home, well nobody answered the door. However, I was able to speak with a neighbor. Come to find out this dog did live at that house. He had been tied to a chain in the backyard for the last few years. I was also told that the owners didn't live there. The owners had moved out years ago, but they continued to store items at the house, including the dog. They would come by to drop off dog food and then leave.

I am guessing he'd been used as a "gaurd" dog for the house. Also, he wasn't nuetered so he could have been used as a stud. I don't know, this is only my spectulation.

I do know that the previous owners do not want to take ownership or responsiblilty. In my opionion after seeing the enviornment he was living in, I am glad they don't.

Helix has been staying at my Vet's. We had him updated on all of his shots and is scheduled to be nuetered on Monday. I am trying to find someone to foster him until he is either adopted or placed into a rescue.

I am considering boarding him if I am unable to find a foster. If this is the case it will cost approximately $110 a week. So yes, I will be accepting any kind of donation from you, my lovely friends.
