Many of you have asked how you can support Joe and Mandi after the terrible accident Joe was in. We added this page to make it easier for anyone who wants to donate or share words of comfort and encouragement.

Young newlyweds Joe and Mandi VanGordon gave birth to twin boys, Jeffrey and Joey, on June 12th 2013. Joe is a full-time student at UTI on scholarship and works a full time job at Amazon. Mandi has recently returned to school and works a full time job taking care of her twin boys. Daycare was not an option as anyone who has had a baby knows the cost of daycare and twins double that cost. Having one income, Joe and Mandi live on a shoestring budget. The twin boys are well taken care of and loved. Their parents are working hard to make a better life for their family.

On the night of September 5th, Mandi became nervous as she waited for her husband to come home from work. He was three hours late and there was no call. She started calling around to hospitals and found her worst fear had come true. Joe was on his motorcycle returning home to his family after a long day’s work and was hit by a driver failing the right of way. His right hip, right knee, and left ankle were all broken along with a fracture to his left scapula and ribs. There was bruising to his lungs and a lot of road rash. He has undergone one surgery for his knee and they expect there will be more. He has 3 – 4 months of recovery in rehab and was just transferred to a Nursing/Rehab facility. It is an awful and depressing place, but the insurance will only cover this type of facility.

This young family has gone through so much and is trying to remain strong. There is no income, daddy is not home with his family, the school semester is lost, and the twins have basic needs that don’t go away just because someone wasn't paying attention to the road.

Please give your prayers and words of comfort to this young family. It will be several months before an insurance settlement is finalized and the family could use your support to keep the lights and diapers on. If you wish to assist financially, 100% of your donation goes to the family. Note: Donations that are given to an individual and not a registered charity are not tax deductible.
