Barbara and Juan have been married for 17 years, they have 3 kids together. Their oldest son is 19 years and will be leaving to the Navy this August, their 2nd oldest is 12 yrs old and is in the 6th grade, their youngest is 9 years old and is in the 3rd grade. After going through a few medical problems and procedures Juan found out he is needing a kidney transplant. Juan who is 42 yrs old was immediately put on a donor list..... His wife Barbara who is 37 yrs old was soon tested in hopes that she would be the perfect match for her husband. Let me remind you that it's almost a 1 in a million chance that 2 people who are NOT related WILL be a match but Barbara still wanted to be tested to see if there was any way she can help her husband at having another chance at a healthy life. She set up her appointments, which are in San Antonio and stayed there for a FULL day of testing, blood work and physicals. Talk about finding your soul mate...... April-15-2013 Barbara received the call her and her husband had been waiting for.... She was told she WAS A MATCH for her husband! High hopes they have, yes..... Barbara and Juan still have to find out if Barbara is healthy enough to give Juan her kidney..... Back to San Antonio they go for all different kinds of tests, blood work, dental exams and physicals. April 29th 2013 Barbara received the last call they had been waiting for, the call that would change their lives forever...... They called to deliver the miraculous news that SHE IS HEALTHY enough to give her husband a second chance at a healthy life!!! :) They scheduled her and her husbands surgery for June 19th 2013. Barbara's stay in the hospital will be 1-3 days and Juan will be in the hospital for about a week. Barbarba and Juan will have family stay with them in San Antonio to help care for them and their children. So all in all this Fundrazr is being posted to help Barbara and Juan with medical and travel expenses.
