After searching for this love for decades, we found our kindest friend who supports each other through everything. We don't want to wait any longer – and with Carol's mother being 87 and this being her only daughter's only marriage, the clock is ticking!
We want with all our hearts to wed in a ceremony. Carol became unemployed the end of April, and Don has been searching for full-time work for more than a year. Between us, our income barely supports our living expenses, much less a wedding. But our love is boundless!

After searching for this kind of love for decades (Carol is 51, Don 59), we finally found our best friend and kind partner who supports each other through everything! We don't want to wait any longer to pledge our lives and hearts to each other – and with Carol's mother being 87 years old and this being her only daughter's only marriage, the clock is ticking.

We have scaled down our wedding to an intimate size at a local, inexpensive venue with a potluck reception – but as you know with weddings, nothing is free. We hope to pay for inexpensive items like simple silver wedding bands, a single rose for the bride as her bouquet, homemade wedding cake and sangria and casseroles for the reception, homemade invitations graced by Don's collage artwork; and more spendy but still reasonable items like a charming neighborhood vacation home for four days where Carol's East Coast family can stay and where the rehearsal dinner and reception can occur, a professional photographer to capture romantic moments for us to treasure for the rest of our lives, and maybe even a professional deejay (we found a classy one!) to play our favorite classic jazz favorites, old blues, and stirring classical pieces to add to the ambiance in the charming little old neighborhood mansion.

We have set the date as October 12th. Since Carol's family and relatives are traveling from the East Coast to Reno, we need to give enough notice on the go-ahead with our wedding for these loved ones to make plans for time off from work and travel arrangements. Because of that, we're setting the deadline for contributions to June 12th. Four months should be enough advance notice for folks to change their plans if we have to call off the wedding celebration.

How this fundraising website works is that contributions can continue past the deadline and can exceed the goal, so anything can help whenever you can contribute. And if you can, you can help bring our dream to reality and our hearts will be forever grateful. If you'd like to know a little more about us and our wedding dreams and plans, please visit our wedding website:

With love and joy and hugs,
from Carol and Don
