My name is Kim Whitworth. I am 37 and married with 4 children ages 21, 19, 16, 4, and one granddaughter that is 5. I recently found a lump on my breast and got a mammogram and a sonogram. On April 9th I received a call that every woman does not want to hear...I was told that I have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, which is the most common invasive breast cancer. It starts in the breast’s milk ducts and invades surrounding breast tissue. If not treated at an early stage, it can move into other parts of the body, through your bloodstream, or your lymphatic system. I was heartbroken. I really didn’t know what questions to ask. I asked if they knew what stage it was and they said on a grade from 1-3 on how fast it grows that it is a 2. All these emotions keep running through my head. We have no health insurance however I plan on fighting this with all my abilities. I know that God will watch over me and help me, and even $5.00 can help so much :)
