c/o Koty

Koty, a 10 year old Doberman, was very recently diagnosed with Wobblers and Hypothyroidism. Before his human mom, Ava, could emotionally and financially recover from these devastating blows, he bloated on January 13, 2013. Everyone who knows her, knows that she has a meticulous plan to prevent bloat in any dog she cares for, especially her two Dobermans. Sadly, bloat is not always avoidable. You can make all the right steps, have a strict plan in place, and yet you find yourself in the ER desperately waiting to hear if your furkid is going to pull through.

As of right now, there’s no guarantee Koty will pull through. He survived bloat surgery, but his struggle to recover from anesthesia and the surgery is not over. Koty’s bills (ER, Internal Medicine and GP Vet) are well over $5,000 and climbing. His mom is not only financially drained, she’s unable to pay the balance when he is able to go home… and we believe he will go home. Koty is a fighter and so is his Momma!

Ava is a dedicated volunteer for Cullen’s Archangel RescuE, Inc. (CARE) and floater volunteer for many other nonprofits in the Eastern US. This woman works her fingers to the bone to help countless rescue groups and private citizens move animals all across the US so that they may have a full and loving life with their forever families. She does this all while working a full-time job and fostering pets in need. In addition, Ava has given almost all that she has in order to keep the mission going and has even helped individuals who were mere steps from being homeless themselves.

If ever there was a person or pet to help during difficult times, these two are top of the list! If you feel you would like to help, please do so today. Every penny will help reduce this financial burden for Ava. We’re all chipping in as best we can too.
