Attention residents of Eugene, Springfield and surrounding communities. On the night 11/23/12 a 17 year old African American girl was brutally assaulted by an assailant that has yet to be caught; unfortunately, the Springfield Police Department and local media have spoken of this incident very minimally and media have stated they have been told by police that there is no threat to our community. Below we have provided some photos of the unspeakable damage inflicted on this teenager so our community may witness the truly life threatening & life changing event that took place in Springfield, OR. This Brave teenager searched for help and was discovered with massive facial swelling, a broken nose, bleeding from her ear, multiple upper front teeth missing along with the bone connecting her front teeth to her pallet, a broken jaw, multiple through and through lacerations to her face, both eyes swollen shut strangulation marks to her throat, and the skin was removed from her thigh and knees from possibly being dragged. The assailant(s) are still walking free amongst us in the community, and that in itself is an endangerment the safety of our youth and others. A heinous act this violent is undoubtedly a priority and concern to our community. This teen will need to undergo multiple facial reconstructive surgeries. The surgeon at Riverbend Hospital stated it was the worst assault he had seen, and proposed that a weapon or street curb was used because the amount of damage inflicted to her face. The future of this child and the safety of others rest in the capturing of the monster(s) that committed this heinous act to a child. The police and media may not acknowledge the importance of this event but she no longer fears being seen and by you all sharing this her voice will be heard!
