On Sunday, October 21, 2012, the Nakanashi and Kraus ohana were involved in a tragic car accident on the Big Island of Hawaii. They lost their dear husband, father and grandfather, Miles Nakanishi, a beloved member of our community here in Hawaii. Also in the vehicle was his wife, Denise Nakanishi, his mother-in-law, Jewel (MiniMa), and his two grandchildren, Connor Kalimahana and Faith Makanalani Kraus.
Denise and Jewel were transported to Hilo Hospital in serious condition. The children received life threatening injuries and were medevaced to Honolulu.
In addition to their heart wrenching grief, the family is faced with mounting medical bills and funeral expenses. This account has been established to help our dear friends and their keiki.
