Please donate: Hispanic UMADAOP is a nonprofit community-based organization providing bilingual and culturally competent services to the Hispanic/Latino community since 1989. It is the only nonprofit agency in Ohio offering prevention, treatment, and support services in a bicultural format. Our mission has been and continues to be to eliminate the negative impact of HIV/AIDS, violence and the abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs through culturally sensitive programs. Back in 1993 and 1996, the agency opened the inpatient residential chemical dependency treatment centers, Casa ALMA for men and Casa MARIA for women (Also known as Miguel Prieto Treatment Services in remembrance of its founder Miguel Prieto). Most recently (October 2012), Hispanic UMADAOP needed to temporarily suspend its residential treatment services and after ten months, & has reopened its doors with vibrant and renewed energy to continue serving the Cleveland community...as a whole. To accomplish this, we are dependent on a series of fundraising events to leverage the awarded dollars by local and state public funders. As part of the Northeast Ohio community, Hispanic UMADAOP is called to respond to the needs of the people we serve now and in the future. Our target for this initiative is to net $50,000 in multiple events, within the next year.
