On May 1, 2010 i was admitted into the hospital with kidney failure in both kidneys. I was diagnosed with advanced IgA nephropathy and was told I needed a kidney transplant to live. On December15, 2010 Valerie Ruggles made the ultimate sacrifice and donated one of her kidneys to me. The transplant was and still is a huge success. In March 2011 I started to get sick again. This time it was a problem with my bone marrow and white blood cells. My bone marrow stopped producing WBCs and no one could figure out why. I was in and out of the hospital from March til September. I would get treatments to stimulate my bone marrow to produce WBCs. This was very very painful and failed every time. In August I was given a plasma transfusion which seemed to magically fix the problem for the most part. It also was discovered that I had Parvovirus. I was in pretty good shape in the fall and winter. In March 2012 I was admitted into the hospital for 10 days. I was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis.. Now trying to figure out why I have this... Lots of tests coming up, I'll keep you updated..
