Brantley Animal Rescue Coalition hasn't added a story.
Maylynn and her family are in need, they need medical attention for a grocery list of issues from worms, mange, and infestation to possible surgery for the removal of a mass in the intestinal region , so far....
We had a free shots clinic Sat. the 10th called Darla Day. Started for Darla a sweet pup we lost to parvo, when we rescued them we had all three taken to the hospital for treatment but poor little Darla just couldn't make it... so we had Darla Day in her honor, we gave free parvo distemper shots to any and every pup that came, no questions asked, in hopes of giving some of these babies in this area some immunity to this awful virus. Some wonderful ladies came and donated to our Rescue, and one of the ladies asked, do you make house calls, I looked at her and smiled, " Of course I will" she told me about a litter of pups that was starving down the road. I went into the store bought 2 bags of food and asked her how to get there. When I got there I didn't see anything but a torn up trailer, I called and called... nothing.... then I heard a low growl. I started walking backwards towards my truck. Then I saw the momma come out, she is a chocolate mess. What little hair she has is red brown and sunbleached, from 20 feet away I can see the soars and the fleas crawling all over her drooping skin covered skeleton. Then 3 little pups came out from under the trailer, they were scared and scratching and I could see the bloated wormy bellies and the same patchy droopy skinny bodies... my heart was breaking. I desided right then that even though I have to many at home already, this family needed help, I tried to catch them but no one would get close enough. Sadly I had to leave food and water and try again later. I keep going back everyday trying to get them and feeding them each time... I finally got one, she is so scared but never tries to bite, to weak from her situation. He body looks like it is crawling, I have NEVER seen an infestation this bad, she is anemic, wormy, and mangy. I got her home and bathed her, dipped her, wormed her and gave her the vaccinations, parvo/distemper and bordetella. As I picked the fleas that were imbedded in her skin and the ticks off of her I felt something... she has these large flat growths under her skin right below her bellybutton, I have never felt something like this on a puppy.... she is going to the vet TODAY.
Now our Rescue is small and the funds we had are gone between the litter of parvo puppies and a few other needy babies, one with a broken leg, one born with a hole in his heart, but this little girl needs help, we can't let her suffer, that is all they have known, I need to get the rest of her family too, I WILL get them. There are two more pups and a momma, I am sure every one of them is going to need serious help, please help Maylynn and her family get the help they need so that they can have the life they deserve. None of these babies asked for this or deserve the fate that awaits them in that situation. Please help
