Update: We did it! We reached our minimum goal of $20,000 with 14 days left to go to fund the BioLogos podcast, “Language of God”! But we think we can do even more if we’re able to reach our stretch goal of $25,000. The stretch goal will help fund additional improvements to the podcast -- including travel for guests and staff to do in-person interviews, upgrades to equipment, and in general, ensuring the “Language of God” is of the highest quality.
Public discourse has become more polarized than ever. It doesn’t matter if you’re talking political parties, or culture wars, or science and religion. There are two extreme sides, both claiming the other is completely wrong and misguided. Extreme rhetoric fires up its base, but does little to persuade others. And it has become exhausting.
At BioLogos, we think there is a better way. A way of dialoguing graciously with others. A way of respecting the insights of both sides. A way of living within the tensions.
What is BioLogos?
BioLogos invites the church and the world to see the harmony between science and biblical faith as we present an evolutionary understanding of God’s creation.
We don’t think you have to choose between understanding God’s world through science, and remaining faithful to God’s word in Scripture. We believe accepting the best of contemporary science does not have to lead you away from faith. We believe commitment to the Christian tradition and the teachings of Jesus does not force you to reject the amply confirmed theories of current physics and biology.
For the past 10 years, BioLogos has primarily produced written resources for the web. It’s time for us to extend our messaging to a new medium: the podcast.
First, We Need Your Help
In our quest to bring you the voices of experts & thinkers, scientists & theologians, and stories from people who are finding a harmony between faith and science, we are committed to bringing you a well-produced, professional sounding podcast. To do that we are raising $20,000 to get started.* This will make it possible for us to:
- purchase equipment like microphones, headphones, mixers, stands, cords, and other essential gear to help us record a podcast
- license music used on the podcast
- purchase software for recording, editing, and distributing the podcast
- get production assistance so we can bring the podcast from our studio to your listening device in the best format and quality possible
- work with consultants to make sure we are following best practices and assessment to bring you the highest quality product
- promote and market the podcast to help reach the people who want to hear it
