Baron Anderson/Garcia woke up the Monday 1-6-2013 in pain, throwiingup and discarding blood from all areas. Baron moaned from the discomfort, it was more than the big guy could handle. Baron is the 10 year old, 121lb Rottweiler baby of Laurie Anderson and Jesse Garcia. Baron was immediately taken to the local Vet, whom informed his parents to admit him to emergency. Jesse and Laurie have taken Baron to two locations since than and he still requires additional medical attention. The Vet believes that Baron has:

HGE or Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis is a disease that hits quickly and can be fatal if not treated immediately. Veterinarians and pet owners remain frustrated by Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis because symptoms appear rapidly and often without explanation. A perfectly healthy dog will be fine one moment and then seriously ill the next.

The problem with Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis is that there is no known cause. Experts believe there might be a link between this disease and a loss of beneficial bacteria in the intestines. What is known is that fluids leak from blood vessels within the intestines and exit through the rectum.

Common Symptoms of HGE

Most cases of this acute gastroenteritis begin rapidly with explosive bloody diarrhea. The dog may also experience:

  • Dehydration
  • Depression
  • Lack of appetite
  • Lethargy
  • Nausea and vomiting

As you can see the symptoms can be deadly and please take the time to look it up information yourself. Jesse and Laurie are trying to keep Baronin the hands of the Vet, so that they could provide the medical attention Baron will need. A night in the vet hospital costs $500.00 a,  and it will take a couple of night/days to get Baron out of the woods. That does not include the medication that will be required for his home care. This could not be a worse time, but than again there is no good time.

Everyone has a love for animals, or has someone in their lives that love animals.  So you know the pain and anguish we feel when our furry children are in pain. And you could only imagine what Laurie and Jesse are feeling, that doesn't even include Frankie and Kizo.

My goal is $1500.00 for the Vet bills/medicine. If we supersede that amount, than great! If we get more than we need, than we will donate the remainder amount to a local animal foundation in need with the hopes that money can help another animal in need of medical assistance.

Please take the time to pray about this, anything you can offer would be a blessing. The hardest thing about loving animals, they can't tell us what's wrong. The best thing about loving animals, they love us unconditionally.

PayPal is available and/or you can pay by check, and/or directly to the vet. (that information will be following soon)

Updates will be provided on Barren’s well being.

Thank you,

For: Barren, Laurie and Jesse
