Naomi Ockerman hasn't added a story.
Thank you for visiting!
Carolina is raising money for a trip she has been invited to
attend this upcoming summer 2014 with her dance group Baila! Baila!
She is selling raffle tickets--$1 each. The grand prize is a wonderful
basket filled with items such as Scentsy, Pampered Chef, Close To My
Heart, Jamberry Nails and so much more is being added daily. The
drawing will be held on January 15, 2014.
Here is a little video about Carolina and her dancing journey
so far.
Please come back here and finish reading about her trip
Carolina is a dancer with Baila! Baila! which is a dance studio that
specializes in the art of Traditional Mexican Folklore Dances. She
currently dances with the 10-13 year old advance group. She started
dancing at the age of 6 and loves it!
Carolina is cordially asking for your support for her trip next
summer. Her invitation from Baila! Baila! (as part of the dance
studio) will be a trip to New York. While in New York, she will get to
dance at the Statue of Liberty and then travel to DC to dance at the
Lincoln Memorial!! Carolina is extremely excited to be invited and of
course to go!
Her travel expenses are $2150 and she is asking for your help
in raising the money to get there! You can donate anything! Every
dollar helps!
Please buy as many raffle tickets as you would like
($1 each, the tickets will be mailed to you).
The video has clips showing that she practices every day and is
always moving her feet (don’t know how many times I have to remind her
stop moving your feet when we are in public, LOL)!
She has performed at churches, schools, fiestas, New Mexico
State Fair, retirement homes, parades, the Governor’s Luncheon (which
was the governor’s conference with governors from NM, TX, AZ and
Mexico) and the and the most recent a dance competition in Pueblo,
where their group took 2nd place!
One year she was asked to dance a solo at an event, at the age
of 7 (but she danced like a professional—not scared at all, LOL).
There is a video of her at the end of this letter (the video was
captured by her brother, so it is a little shaky).
As of October 1st, she has been rehearsing for the upcoming
Christmas Show (in Albuquerque, December 7). She dances 2 days a week
for a total of 5 hours, sometimes more. She is extremely dedicated
(though she comes home exhausted and usually asleep by the time we get
home, my poor baby).
The video also shows the chaos backstage—but the shows are
worth it. The picture is what the backstage looks like (this is the
annual Christmas Show 2011).
She has made great friends and memories that will last a lifetime!
Once again, Carolina would like to say thank you for your
support in her next great journey in her dancing career. Thank you!!
This is a video of Carolina performing a solo to El Sauce y la
Palma in Vaughn, NM of May 2012. (Video courtesy of her brother, Jeffery.)
