Helping Each Other Help Ourselves, now we need your help to continue our free programming.

An estimated 1 in 5 Canadians suffer from depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, OCD or some combination of these illnesses according to Statistics Canada.

The effects of these disorders on an individual's life can be wide-ranging. Professional therapy and medication offer hope for many sufferers, but with waiting lists being up to 1 year long, we have found a way to offer help in the interim.  We offer opportunities to help people rebuild and reclaim their lives in the interim and ongoing throughout recovery.

Peer support groups are an effective way to overcome isolation and loneliness, to meet people who understand what you are going through, and an opportunity to learn and share about your disorder.

SupportWorks offers weekly peer support groups that are freely available to anyone without referral, at a variety of locations and times.

Because mood and anxiety disorders so often involve isolation and avoidance, SupportWorks also offers numerous opportunities for individuals to meet new people, to try something new, to overcome isolation, and to get out in to the world in a safe and supportive environment.

The Mission of SupportWorks is to provide free, peer-led support groups to those living with mood and anxiety disorders.

Our values are compassion, confidentiality, support, respect, acceptance, understanding, and self-advocacy.
