I'm going out to Uganda in January 2014 for 12 weeks to teach in local primary schools. Whilst I'm funding the trip myself, I'd really like to raise some extra money for basic resources for the schools such as pens, paper and sports equipment.
Before I start my teacher training here in the UK I'm going out to Uganda in January 2014 on a 12 week pre-Teach First internship to teach in local primary schools through Volunteer Uganda. I'm paying for the trip myself, but I'd like to raise some extra money to buy resources such as pens/paper/textbooks for the schools (some of which I will buy in the UK and take with me) and classroom equipment such as desks and blackboards for the schools there.

Volunteer Uganda has worked in the Bwindi region of South-Western Uganda for over 20 years, and aims to bring about permanent, sustainable development through educational infrastructure development, job creation, health promotion and volunteering.

They have helped to built and run four primary schools, a secondary school and a college, however with over half the population under the age of 14 and over 85% of the population living on less than 1 US dollar a day, they still need support.
