On October 7th my fiancé and I welcomed into this world a beautiful baby girl. Within minutes of being born the doctors knew something was wrong, and so did we. At about 4 hours old our daughter was air lifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon, NH. That is where she was diagnosed with VACTERL Association. This affects the spine, esophagus, rectum, kidneys, and the heart. Willa has all of these, and spent the first two days of life on the surgery table trying to correct some of the issues that were the most serious. Over the next 6 months she will undergo a few more as well. She is looking at possible spinal cord surgery and reconstructive surgery to fix all her "plumbing" as she is currently not able to urinate or pass stool through the normal methods. I know that your hearts are big and your love is stong. We are a young family that just bought a house last year and now face an uphill road. This is going to be a costly venture but it is going to a very good cause. Willa has a three year old sister at home who would love for her sister to come home, and a big brother Zack that would also like her to be home safe. We are putting this fund together to help assist Willa with everything that goes along with caring for a child that needs our help more than ever. It is a long road and want to make her feel the most comfortable as we can. Thank you for all your support.
