Help us provide flexible seating options for an exciting collaborative space and performance area in our library. School libraries are more than just a place to check out books and textbooks. They are dynamic spaces that meet a wide variety of needs of their students and staff who want to gather, collaborate and support each other.

Sunset High School’s library has a good collection of books, a variety of study areas, collaborative white board tables where students work and problem solve together and a fun and creative Makerspace, thanks to our community’s support of our Read & Relax Wellness Corner project.

What we don't have is a dedicated collaborative space for small groups to share their work, have club meetings and host our Open Poetry Mics.

We already have a commitment from the Art Department to design a creative backdrop. A small stage is being built and we have gathered a microphone stand and portable speakers. All we need is movable, but comfortable benches and chairs that can be used during performances and for small group work.

We also have a commitment from the Sunset Parent Teacher Organization to help us fund this project - but it’s not enough.  Can you help with a donation so we can purchase the flexible furniture we need to make this space a reality? Thank you so much for considering our request. We appreciate you!
