Hi, I'm Margaret Lai, team lead for Living Hope Fellowship's ( refugee family sponsorhip project. I am a wife, and mom of two.  I am grateful to live in a peaceful and rich country made up of culturally and ethnically diverse people - aren't we so lucky?

Our goal is to help resettle a family from a once peaceful, multi-ethnic and multi-religious Syria into a life of safety and hope in Canada. Currently, we are working on a campaign headed by the Candian Baptists of Western Canada (check out the link for more info)  to co-sponsor a family (with the Government of Canada).  The goal is to raise 30 K as soon as possible to show that we can help sustain a family of four or more for one year in their new life here.

There are too many diplaced people, exiled from their homes.  Too many children being put at risk.  In their quest to escape from danger, refugees face trauma, vulnerability and hopelessness.  It is time to reach out our hand!  Collectively, it takes so little, but we can make a huge difference to our fellow humans.

I am asking you, my friends, my community to do your part as a blessed Canadian to help this cause. Please consider donating at least one day's wages (or more!) to help a young family start a new life - a life of hope and peace. Please share this post with your friends, family and co-workers so we can make it happen! Margaret and the 3 E'sPS- if you donate $2000 or more, I'll have you over for dinner!
